A few weeks ago we posted about our local Wilmington nominees for the Carolina Music Awards and encouraged everyone to vote for our talented Wilmington representatives. Well, at the awards this weekend Wilmington artists won EVERY category in which they were nominated!
Congratulations to the following winners: Crissie McCree, Best Rock Female (who received her award from our dear friend Andy Washburn of NC Local Music, an avid promotor of local music in the Raleigh area); James Ethan Clark, Best Rock Male; Bootleg Dynasty, Best Americana Artist; Karen Kane, Best Producer (which we already knew, since she’s worked with Folkstar on both of their albums).
Further proof that Wilmington is becoming a music scene to be noticed. If you’re not out supporting local music, now is a good time to start!
